Social Support Group (SSG)
Orbost Regional Health offers Social Support Groups on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during school terms.
Group activities include social interaction and recreational activities such as crafts, games, Picnics, barbecues, lunches, op shop visits or guest speakers who may provide health information.
Social Support Groups are for:
- A person aged 65 and over
- A person living with a disability
- A person receiving NDIS assistance
Social Support Groups run for about 5 hours per session.
There is a small fee, which includes morning tea and lunch on the home days. Clients are asked to contribute a little more for their own meals depending on the type of outings.
The group caters for all people of all ages and abilities.
The activities and outings are aimed at stimulating both the mind and body. We collaborate with all of our participants and develop our programs to suit their choices.
